Message as yourself or your network

Added

  • Talent can now message other talent directly. Open a profile and send a message as yourself. You need a talent profile so people can see who is writing.
  • If you have both a talent profile and a company, a Message as choice on profiles and service pages lets you pick which one you are writing as. Conversations as yourself and as your network are separate threads.

Changed

  • The "Let networks message me" setting is now "Let people message me", and covers new conversations from other talent too. Conversations you already have stay open.
  • Message emails now say who it is from and which network they are writing for, for example "New message from Sam at Vaulted", instead of only the network name.
  • Message emails carry the whole message instead of cutting it off after about 120 characters. The notification bell still shows a short preview, now cut at a whole word.

Profile views and sharing

Added

  • Profile views: your dashboard shows how many people opened your profile in the last 7 days and in total. Views do not count you or search crawlers, and counting starts from today.
  • Insights: a new Insights page in your dashboard with a chart of your profile views, a comparison with the average listed profile and suggestions. The last 7 days are free. Unlocking extends it to 30 days for 30 days, which is a paid feature, free during the pilot.
  • Share your profile: your dashboard has copy buttons for your short link and your README badge.
  • Message control: a new "Let networks message me" setting on your profile. Turn it off to stop new conversations from networks. Existing conversations stay open, and Minebit staff can still reach you.

Changed

  • Networks can now message an unlisted profile if they have its link.
  • Turning off "List my profile in the public directory" now only takes you off the Talent page and search engines. Anyone with your profile link can still open it, and you see an Unlisted note on your own page.

Following and languages

Added

  • Following: follow other talent from their profile. They get a notification, and each profile shows a follower and following count with a list of the latest people on each side. You need your own talent profile to follow, and you can follow up to 500 people.
  • Languages: tick the languages you speak on your profile. They show under your name and in your details.

Changed

  • On talent and network pages the name, badges and tagline now sit below the banner instead of over the picture.

Staff and administration skills

Added

  • New skills: Staff management, Moderation, Server configuration and System administration, grouped under a new Staff and administration type in the talent directory.
  • Server administrator and Moderator / support jobs now match people by these skills.

Changed

  • Skills on your profile form and in the directory filters are grouped by type, so the list is easier to scan. Groups you have picked from stay open.

Creators and editors

Added

  • Creators and editors: a new type in the talent directory for video editors, motion designers, streamers and YouTubers. There are new skills (video editing, motion graphics and trailers, streaming and YouTube, thumbnails and social graphics) and new project kinds for videos and channels.
  • Networks can post jobs under a new Content creator category, and the Video and trailer editor category now matches people by their skills. New service categories cover video editing, thumbnails and social graphics, and content and promotion.

Changed

  • A vetted profile says "Portfolio reviewed" instead of "Source code reviewed" when the person does not list any coding skills.

More ways to be found

Added

  • Services: list the commissions you take, each with a starting price and delivery time. They appear on a Services page and on your profile.
  • Available for hire: post a short "open to work" note and appear on the available board for 30 days. Post again to refresh it.
  • Import from GitHub or Modrinth: pull your public projects into your work history. You prove the account is yours with a one-time code in its bio, so nobody can import someone else's work.
  • Project screenshots: add up to four images to each project on your profile.
  • Share your profile: a short link (minebit.dev/u/your-name) and a live badge for your GitHub README or Discord bio that shows your name, Vetted status and rating.
  • Portfolio feedback: ask vetted talent to review your work, and answer other people's requests once you are vetted. Turn on "Offers feedback" to show it on your profile.
  • Quote requests: networks can ask you and a few others for a price on one piece of work. You answer from a new Quotes page, or decline. You can turn requests off on your profile.
  • Team listings: a network can list you on its team. Nothing shows until you accept, and you can leave any time.
