Message as yourself or your network

Added

  • Talent can now message other talent directly. Open a profile and send a message as yourself. You need a talent profile so people can see who is writing.
  • If you have both a talent profile and a company, a Message as choice on profiles and service pages lets you pick which one you are writing as. Conversations as yourself and as your network are separate threads.

Changed

  • The "Let networks message me" setting is now "Let people message me", and covers new conversations from other talent too. Conversations you already have stay open.
  • Message emails now say who it is from and which network they are writing for, for example "New message from Sam at Vaulted", instead of only the network name.
  • Message emails carry the whole message instead of cutting it off after about 120 characters. The notification bell still shows a short preview, now cut at a whole word.

Available for hire removed

Changed

  • Terms and Privacy Policy updated: services can now be listed by networks as well as talent, and open-to-work notes are no longer listed as data we hold or show.

Removed

  • The Available for hire board is gone, along with the "open to work" note on profiles and the home page card. Your availability setting stays, and the talent directory can still be filtered by it.
  • Any open to work note you posted has been deleted. The old /available link now goes to the talent directory.

Services for networks

Added

  • Networks can now list services. A build team, studio or dev team can offer commissions with a starting price, the same as a person can. Open Services in your network dashboard to add them.
  • Network services show on the Services page with a Network label, and in a Services section on the network page. The Services page has a new Offered by filter, and Vetted only now also covers Verified networks.
  • The Networks page shows how many services each network offers, with an Offers services filter.
  • You can ask a network about a service from its page, as a company or as a talent profile.

Changed

  • If you have both a talent profile and a company, the Services page in your dashboard lets you choose which one you are listing for.
  • Starting prices on the rate guide now include network services.

Minebit Link

Added

  • Minebit Link keys: on your company page you can make a key for the Minebit Link plugin for Paper servers. The key is only shown once and stored hashed, and you can replace or remove it at any time.
  • Server linked badge: a network whose plugin has checked in recently shows a Server linked badge on its page. It shows the owner controls the server. It is separate from the Verified employer badge, which is still checked by hand.
  • In-game application alerts: with the plugin, staff you give a permission to are told in game when someone applies to one of your roles. Only the applicant's display name and the role are shared with the plugin, never their message, email or profile.
  • A Minebit Link page at /plugin that explains the plugin, its setup and its permissions. The download button says Coming soon until the plugin is approved.
  • A public list of a network's open roles at /api/networks/your-slug/jobs, which the plugin uses to show roles in game and post new ones to a Discord channel.

Account menu

Added

  • Online status: people now show a green dot when they are active on Minebit and "Last seen" with a time when they are not, on talent profiles and cards, network pages and in messages. You can turn it off on your Account page, and then nothing is recorded or shown.
  • Account menu: hover or click your name in the top bar to open a menu with your dashboard, your public profile, Post a job, Insights, Account and Sign out. Admins and staff also see a link to the admin area.

Changed

  • Clicking your picture in the top bar now takes you to your dashboard. The menu still opens when you hover, and on a phone a tap opens the menu.
  • The dashboard switch now says Talent and Hiring instead of Talent and Network, and the text around it says servers, studios and dev teams so teams of every kind know it is for them.

Removed

  • The separate Sign out, Post a job and Admin links in the top bar for signed-in people. They are in the account menu now. Visitors who are not signed in still see Post a job.

Free job posts and job stats

Added

  • Bump: move a live job back to the top of the job list from its Promote page. Each job can be bumped once every 48 hours, and featured jobs stay above bumped ones. It is a paid promotion, free during the pilot.
  • Insights: a new Insights page in your dashboard. It lists your live jobs with views and applications, and shows a view chart, a comparison with other live jobs in the same category and suggestions for each one. The last 7 days are free. Unlocking a job extends it to 30 days for 30 days, which is a paid feature, free during the pilot.
  • Job stats: each job in your dashboard now shows how many people viewed the listing, how many in the last 7 days, how many applied, and the apply rate. Views do not count you or search crawlers, and counting starts from today.
  • Unpaid listings: you can now post a job or bounty with a pay of 0, and it is shown as Unpaid. Services can be priced at 0 and show as Free. Jobs, Bounties and Services each have a new Paid only filter to hide unpaid listings.

Changed

  • Posting a job is free, and it always will be. Only optional promotion, such as featuring a job or notifying matching talent, costs money.

Removed

  • The per-job posting fee and the payment step when publishing a job. Jobs now publish straight away.

Profile views and sharing

Added

  • Profile views: your dashboard shows how many people opened your profile in the last 7 days and in total. Views do not count you or search crawlers, and counting starts from today.
  • Insights: a new Insights page in your dashboard with a chart of your profile views, a comparison with the average listed profile and suggestions. The last 7 days are free. Unlocking extends it to 30 days for 30 days, which is a paid feature, free during the pilot.
  • Share your profile: your dashboard has copy buttons for your short link and your README badge.
  • Message control: a new "Let networks message me" setting on your profile. Turn it off to stop new conversations from networks. Existing conversations stay open, and Minebit staff can still reach you.

Changed

  • Networks can now message an unlisted profile if they have its link.
  • Turning off "List my profile in the public directory" now only takes you off the Talent page and search engines. Anyone with your profile link can still open it, and you see an Unlisted note on your own page.

Privacy and legal

Added

  • Your data download now also includes who you follow, who follows you, and your notification settings.

Changed

  • The site's typeface is now served from our own servers instead of Google Fonts, so your browser no longer contacts Google when you visit.
  • The Privacy Policy was rewritten to show the legal basis for each use of your data, name the providers we use, list every cookie and what it is for, and describe how long logs are kept and where data is processed.
  • We no longer keep your Discord avatar link, since nothing on the site showed it. Any already stored was removed.
NetworksOctober 15, 2026

Configurator jobs

Added

  • Configurator is now a job category, for setting up and tuning plugins and server settings. Jobs in it are matched to people who list Server configuration, Paper / Spigot, Velocity / BungeeCord, Skript or Datapacks. You can also pick it under "Usually hiring for" on your network page.
PlatformOctober 15, 2026

Email notifications and settings

Added

  • Email notifications: new messages, followers, application and job updates, quotes, reviews, team invitations, feedback replies, promotion updates and account notices can now be emailed to you.
  • Notification settings: a new page, linked from Notifications and your Account page, where you choose for each kind of thing whether it shows on the site and whether it is emailed. Notices about your account, vetting and reports always show on the site, but you can turn off their emails.

Changed

  • Alerts about jobs that match your skills are now their own setting, and are not emailed unless you turn that on.
PlatformOctober 15, 2026

Read receipts and link previews

Added

  • Read receipts: each message you send in a conversation says "Delivered" until the other person opens it, then "Seen" with how long ago. Hover for the exact time.
  • Link previews: sharing a talent profile or network page in Discord or other chat apps now shows a proper card with the banner, avatar, name, Vetted or Verified mark, rating, headline and top skills, instead of plain text. The card updates when the profile changes.
TalentOctober 15, 2026

Following and languages

Added

  • Following: follow other talent from their profile. They get a notification, and each profile shows a follower and following count with a list of the latest people on each side. You need your own talent profile to follow, and you can follow up to 500 people.
  • Languages: tick the languages you speak on your profile. They show under your name and in your details.

Changed

  • On talent and network pages the name, badges and tagline now sit below the banner instead of over the picture.
PlatformOctober 14, 2026

Badge, counters and home page

Added

  • Character counters: every text box with a length limit shows how many characters you have used, and the count turns red as you get close to the limit.
  • The home page now invites people to join as founders while pilot spots are open, and has quick links to each kind of talent.

Changed

  • The profile badge for GitHub READMEs and Discord bios has a new look: the Minebit mark and wordmark, your name, a green Vetted segment and a gold rating, with sharper icons.
  • The home page now describes everyone on the site (developers, builders, artists, editors and server staff), not only developers.
TalentOctober 14, 2026

Staff and administration skills

Added

  • New skills: Staff management, Moderation, Server configuration and System administration, grouped under a new Staff and administration type in the talent directory.
  • Server administrator and Moderator / support jobs now match people by these skills.

Changed

  • Skills on your profile form and in the directory filters are grouped by type, so the list is easier to scan. Groups you have picked from stay open.
TalentOctober 14, 2026

Creators and editors

Added

  • Creators and editors: a new type in the talent directory for video editors, motion designers, streamers and YouTubers. There are new skills (video editing, motion graphics and trailers, streaming and YouTube, thumbnails and social graphics) and new project kinds for videos and channels.
  • Networks can post jobs under a new Content creator category, and the Video and trailer editor category now matches people by their skills. New service categories cover video editing, thumbnails and social graphics, and content and promotion.

Changed

  • A vetted profile says "Portfolio reviewed" instead of "Source code reviewed" when the person does not list any coding skills.
PlatformOctober 14, 2026

Founders

Added

  • Founders: people who sign up while the pilot is open become numbered founders. Their name is drawn in shimmering blue on their profile or network page and in lists.
  • Founder credit: when paid features start, founders receive credit. It is applied automatically to job posts, promotions and other paid features, and only used up when a payment goes through. Your balance and history are on your Account page.

More ways to be found

Added

  • Services: list the commissions you take, each with a starting price and delivery time. They appear on a Services page and on your profile.
  • Available for hire: post a short "open to work" note and appear on the available board for 30 days. Post again to refresh it.
  • Import from GitHub or Modrinth: pull your public projects into your work history. You prove the account is yours with a one-time code in its bio, so nobody can import someone else's work.
  • Project screenshots: add up to four images to each project on your profile.
  • Share your profile: a short link (minebit.dev/u/your-name) and a live badge for your GitHub README or Discord bio that shows your name, Vetted status and rating.
  • Portfolio feedback: ask vetted talent to review your work, and answer other people's requests once you are vetted. Turn on "Offers feedback" to show it on your profile.
  • Quote requests: networks can ask you and a few others for a price on one piece of work. You answer from a new Quotes page, or decline. You can turn requests off on your profile.
  • Team listings: a network can list you on its team. Nothing shows until you accept, and you can leave any time.

Hire without writing a job post

Added

  • Live server list entry: if you add a server address, your page shows it the way the in-game multiplayer list does, with the icon, message of the day, player count and version. It works for Java and Bedrock servers and refreshes about once a minute. Your Company page has a server check that tells you why if we cannot reach it.
  • Ask for quotes: write one brief, pick up to five people, and compare their prices side by side. Accept one and carry on in your conversation.
  • Bounties: post a small fixed-price task of up to $500. They run for 14 days, are free to post, and use the same applications, hiring and reviews as jobs.
  • Richer network pages: a tagline, server address, Discord invite, the year you started, and the roles you usually hire for.
  • Team on your page: list the people you work with. Each one has to accept first.
  • Hired through Minebit: your page shows people you hired and reviewed. Their reviews were already public.
  • Services: browse commissions with prices, and message the person who offers one.
  • Available for hire: browse people who have said they are open to work, in their own words.

Changed

  • Bounties have their own board and stay off the main jobs list. They still show on the network that posted them.
