Minebit

Terms of Service

Last updated October 18, 2026

1.Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are an agreement between you and Minebit (“Minebit”, “we”, “us”). By signing in, creating a profile or company, posting, messaging, paying, or otherwise using Minebit (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Minebit is independent. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft. Minecraft is a trademark of Mojang Studios.

2.What the Service is, and is not

The Service lets talent (developers, builders, artists, video editors, content creators and other people who offer their work) publish profiles, lets server networks and other employers publish jobs, and lets them find and message each other. We only connect users.

We are not a party to any agreement, job, project, contract, payment or relationship between users. We are not an employer, staffing agency, contractor, partner, joint venturer, escrow agent, bank, insurer or guarantor of any user. We do not supervise, direct or control users, and we do not hold, process or guarantee payments made between users.

3.We are not responsible for what users do

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible or liable for any act, omission, statement, work, conduct or content of any talent user, network, or other user, whether on or off the Service, and whether or not you met them through Minebit. This includes, without limit:

  • the quality, safety, legality, timeliness or fitness of any work, plugin, mod, map, build, code or service;
  • late, partial or non-payment, and non-delivery of work;
  • misrepresentation of skills, experience, ownership, identity, size or reputation;
  • malicious, defective, infringing or unlicensed code or assets, including anything that damages a server, steals data, or creates a backdoor;
  • harassment, threats, discrimination or other harmful behavior;
  • intellectual property, licensing, tax, employment, or contractor-classification issues; and
  • any loss, damage or injury that results from dealing with another user.

You are solely responsible for your own decisions and due diligence. That includes checking who you deal with, agreeing terms in writing, deciding how and when to pay or be paid, reviewing and testing any code before running it, keeping backups, and complying with the laws that apply to you.

4.Vetted, Verified and other marks are not endorsements

Vetted means a person at Minebit looked at some of the work a talent user chose to submit, at one point in time, and decided to apply the mark. Verified employer means an admin confirmed that a network controls the server, site or community it pointed to. Promoted and Featured mean someone paid for placement.

None of these marks means that a person or network is safe, honest, competent, insured, solvent, reliable, lawfully operating, free of malicious or defective code, or endorsed, recommended or guaranteed by us. They are not a certification, license or warranty, may be out of date, and can be wrong. Do not rely on them alone.

We may grant, deny, or remove any mark at any time, for any reason or none, without liability.

The Uses AI, No AI and AI allowed tags show what a talent user or network said about AI-generated code. We do not verify them. If we find a declaration is wrong we may change it, lock it so it cannot be edited, or take other action under these Terms. Vetted does not mean that the code was written without AI tools.

5.Accounts

  • You must be at least 13, and old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, or have a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for your use.
  • You sign in with Discord or with a one-time link sent to your email address. Keep your Discord account and your mailbox secure. You are responsible for everything done through your account.
  • What you put on your profile, company page, jobs and applications must be accurate and yours to share. Do not impersonate anyone.
  • To limit fake accounts we may require that your Discord account is a minimum age before you can sign up, and we may refuse, restrict or close any account.

6.Your content

You keep ownership of what you post, including profile text, images, job listings, messages and reports. You give Minebit a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content as needed to run, secure, improve and promote the Service. You confirm you have the right to give that license and that your content does not break the law or anyone's rights.

We may remove or restrict any content at any time. Messages are between you and the other person, but we may access them as described in the Privacy Policy, including to review a report.

7.Acceptable use

You will not:

  • defraud, scam, or mislead anyone, including posting fake work, fake jobs, fake reviews or fake identities, or misstating whether you use AI tools to write code or whether a job allows them;
  • take work, ideas or money and fail to deliver or pay as you agreed;
  • harass, threaten, hate on, or abuse anyone, or share someone's private information;
  • supply malware, backdoors, hidden data collection, or code you have no right to distribute;
  • break the law, or Mojang's EULA, commercial usage guidelines or other terms that apply to Minecraft content you offer or request. You are responsible for your own compliance;
  • scrape, spam, probe, overload or interfere with the Service, or try to get around limits, security, vetting, verification, bids or queues, including by using several accounts to hold promotion slots;
  • post sexual content involving minors, or any content that is illegal where you or we operate.

8.Fees, promotions and payments

Posting a job is free and always will be. Some promotion and insight features cost money, including featured placement, bumps, notifications to matching talent, promoted taglines, bids for promotion slots, and a longer insights window for a job or profile. The last 7 days of insights are free. Prices are shown before you pay. Payments are handled by Stripe, and you also agree to Stripe's terms. You are responsible for any taxes that apply.

  • Free pilot. While Minebit is in its pilot, paid features may be free and no payment is taken. We may end the pilot, start charging, change what is free, or limit access at any time. Anything you use for free creates no right to keep it free, and the no-refund rule below applies from the moment a feature costs money.
  • Slots and queues. Featured jobs and promoted talent are limited to 4 and 4 at a time. When slots are full you can join a queue with an optional bid of up to $100. The highest bid gets the next slot, and has 24 hours to pay or the offer passes on. A bid you win is a binding offer to pay it. We may change slot limits, rules and prices at any time.
  • Approval. Taglines and other content may need our approval. We may reject, edit, hide or end any promotion or listing, at any time, for any reason.
  • No guarantee of results. We do not promise views, applicants, messages, hires, rankings or any other outcome from a purchase.

Founder status and credit. Accounts created while the founder program was open are shown as founders: their name appears in a distinctive colour and their founder number is shown publicly. This is a thank-you, not a trust mark. We may give founders credit to use on paid features. Credit has no cash value, cannot be withdrawn, exchanged for money or transferred, is not a deposit, and is applied automatically before any card payment. It is only used up when a payment goes through, and it is not refunded when it has been used. We decide whether, when and how much credit to grant, and may change or end the program for future sign-ups. We may remove founder status and any unused credit from an account that breaks these Terms or is banned.

No refunds

All payments to Minebit are final and non-refundable under all circumstances, to the maximum extent permitted by law. This includes, without limit: featured placement; bumps; insights; notifications to talent; promoted taglines; winning bids and queue fees; anything you cancel, that expires or lapses, or that we reject, remove, hide or end for any reason; accounts that are suspended or banned; Vetted or Verified status that is denied or later removed; disputes with another user; technical problems; mistakes in what you bought; and a job or promotion that gets no response.

We do not give refunds, credits or exchanges. If you ask your bank or card issuer to reverse a charge instead of contacting us, we may suspend or ban your account.

9.Money between users

Payment for work is arranged directly between the talent user and the network. Minebit does not process, hold, escrow, insure or guarantee those payments, and cannot reverse, recover or enforce them. Agree terms and payment methods in writing, and consider staged payments. Any loss from a deal between users is a matter between those users.

10.Reports and disputes between users

Any signed-in user can report another account for things like non-payment, non-delivery, scams, misrepresentation or harassment. When a report is filed, the reported account is told and can reply, and moderators review both sides.

Moderators decide at their sole discretion. Possible outcomes are: no action, a warning, blacklisting an account from applying or posting jobs, setting and locking a talent user's AI declaration, removing Vetted status, removing Verified employer status, or banning the account. We are not an arbitrator or court. We do not award money, recover payments, force anyone to pay or deliver, or enforce agreements between users. We have no obligation to investigate, to reach any particular outcome, or to decide within any particular time, and our decisions are final and create no liability for us. You remain free to pursue the other user through other channels.

Reports must be truthful and filed in good faith. False, abusive or pressure-tactic reports can lead to action against the reporting account. Reports, replies, and related messages may be read by moderators and shared with the parties involved, and with authorities where the law requires or permits.

11.Reviews, vouches and star ratings

After a talent user is marked as hired, that person and the network can each leave one public review of the other: a star rating, a vouch or a decision not to vouch, and written feedback. A network can also mark the job as completed or ended early. Completed jobs, reviews and the star rating appear on profiles and next to names.

  • Opinions, not facts. Reviews and ratings are the opinions of the user who wrote them. We do not check, verify or endorse them, and a high rating, a vouch or a completed job is not a guarantee of anything, the same as the marks described above.
  • Be honest. Only review people you actually worked with, and only describe what happened. Do not post fake, paid, traded or retaliatory reviews, review yourself or accounts you control, or use a threat of a bad review to get something. Do not include private information or abuse in feedback.
  • How the rating is worked out. The star rating is an average of the stars given by reviews that count, adjusted towards the middle while there are only a few reviews. We may change the formula.
  • Edits and removal. You can edit your own review. We may remove any review, change how ratings are calculated, or discount reviews we think are fake or abusive, at any time. A review that we remove cannot be posted again. Reviews written by an account that is banned stop counting.
  • You are responsible for what you write. We are not liable for reviews, for their accuracy, or for any effect a review has on someone's reputation or income.

12.Services, quotes, bounties and other listings

Beyond jobs, talent users and networks can list services (commissions with a starting price), and talent users can ask for or answer portfolio feedback. Networks can post bounties (small fixed-price tasks), ask talent for quotes, and list talent on their team page. These are all ways of connecting people. They work like jobs in the way that matters most here:

  • We only connect you. A service listing, a quote, a bounty or an accepted quote is not a contract with Minebit. Any agreement is between the people involved. Payment is made directly between them, as described in “Money between users” above. We do not hold, escrow or guarantee it, and we do not guarantee that work will be delivered or fit for purpose.
  • Prices and rates are the user's own. Prices on services, quotes and bounties, and the figures on the rate guide, are not offers by us. The rate guide is general guidance written by us. It is not a quote, a recommendation or advice about what to charge or pay.
  • Quote requests. A network can send one brief to up to five talent users. Do not send quote requests as spam, to collect free work or ideas, or to people who have turned them off. We may limit or remove requests, and a blacklisted network cannot send them.
  • Team listings. A network can list a talent user on its team only if that person accepts. They can leave at any time.
  • Imported work. You can import projects from GitHub or Modrinth after proving you control the account with a one-time code in its bio. We read public information from those sites to do this. Imported projects are your statements about your own work, the same as anything else you list. You may only import work you are entitled to show.
  • Feedback board. Requests and replies are public. Replies are the opinions of the person who wrote them, not our advice or an endorsement, and the Vetted mark on a reply author does not make the advice correct. Only vetted talent, staff and admins can answer other people's requests. We may remove any request or reply.
  • Screenshots and badges. You must have the right to show any picture you upload. A badge or short link to your profile shows your name, Vetted status and rating as they are at the time it is loaded.
  • Conduct. The rules in “Acceptable use” apply to all of these. We may hide or remove any listing, service, bounty, request, reply or note at any time.

13.Blacklists and deleting accounts

Staff and admins may blacklist an account at any time. A blacklisted talent profile cannot apply to jobs, and a blacklisted network cannot post new jobs. Nothing else changes: the account can still sign in, message people, and keep what it already has. A blacklist is not a ban and can be lifted.

  • It is public. The blacklist and the reason the staff member gave are shown in a banner on the profile or network page, and as a tag next to the name in lists. By using Minebit you accept that.
  • Reasons are our statement, not a finding of fact. We make these decisions with limited information. We are not an arbitrator or a court, and we are not liable for a blacklist or for the reason shown.
  • Deleting accounts. We may permanently delete any account or network, or delete one when you ask. Deleting removes the profile, jobs, messages, applications, reviews, promotions and pictures, cannot be undone, and does not entitle anyone to a refund. We keep a short record of the deletion (name, email, reason and date). A deleted person can sign up again unless they were banned.

14.Suspension and termination

We may suspend, restrict or ban any account, and remove any content, at any time, with or without notice, including for breaking these Terms or for risk to others. You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your account yourself from the Account page, or ask us to delete it by emailing support@minebit.dev. Closing, suspending or banning an account does not entitle you to a refund. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive.

15.Third parties

The Service uses and links to third-party services, including Discord and Stripe, and to external sites chosen by users. We do not control them and are not responsible for them.

16.No warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, and security. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, that user content or profiles are accurate, or that you will find work, workers or any particular result.

17.Limit of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither Minebit nor its owners, staff, contractors or affiliates will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill or business, or for any claim arising from the acts or omissions of any user.

Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of US$50 or the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim arose. Some places do not allow certain limits, so some of this may not apply to you.

18.Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Minebit and its owners, staff and affiliates against any claim, loss, liability or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your use of the Service, your dealings with other users, or your breach of these Terms or the law.

19.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Indiana, with courts in Wayne County, Indiana, and disputes with us will be brought in its courts, except where the law of your location requires otherwise. Please email us first so we can try to resolve it informally.

20.Changes

We may update these Terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept it. If you do not accept it, stop using the Service.

21.General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the Service. If a part is unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights; we may transfer ours. No one other than you and us has rights under these Terms.
